Fixing a computer problem from afar
My uncle called my father earlier today, complaining that he was having some troubles with his new computer. He asked my father to come fix it. Well, my father really didn’t want to drive all the way over to his house to check it out, so he hooked up to my uncles’ computer with our computer, using a Remote Access service that he uses that he gets from RemotePC. This is a really cool service that allows you to access someone else’s computer from your computer at home. You have to have someone on each end type in some passwords and permissions to get it going, so security isn’t a problem. I was watching them work on the problem; I thought it was really cool!
