Cutting it close

Here it is only a few days left until Christmas and I’m still looking around for several items that just have been difficult to find in the local stores. I think that I have found the cool gibson pickguard bracket that I’ve spent a good amount of time looking for. I wish I didn’t have to order it online, but there just does not seem to be anywhere around here that has it! I’m confident that the order will arrive in time, but I hate cutting it this close. On the other hand sometimes it can be a good thing to be able to open a present several days after Christmas so you can stretch out the gift opening!

Gift Cards

It doesn’t look like there will be a mink coat or a new car in my wife’s Christmas Stocking this year. But maybe I can find a nice piece of jewelry that she will appreciate and actually wear once in a while. I don’t seem to have the best luck in buying presents for her and I don’t want to give her a gift card, for her that would feel just so impersonal although gift cards are a great gift giving idea for so many people.

I want an e-reader

As I mentioned last January, Kindle was a big seller last Christmas. Recently a friend showed me his Kindle, and I agree that it looks like a terrific e-reader to have. I know I would really enjoy having one, so I’m putting it on my Christmas wish list. But in the meantime I found out that I can download a software program into my laptop that I can use to read the Kindle books with, so for now I will make do with that.
