I’m proud to admit that I’m a very frugal shopper. I come by it quite honestly, my parents are frugal, and they have taught me to watch every penny. They keep saying “If you mind your pennies, the dollars will take care of themselves. Well, I’ve always thought that was a little bit extreme, but I do appreciate the fact that if I am a careful shopper that I can buy MORE things. And if I’m really careful and keep a close eye out, I can find great bargains and deals on great gift items and look like you were being more generous than you really were.
A couple of days ago I noticed that I was starting to run low on the cyan ink color on my printer, so I made a mental note to go to Staples the next time I went into town, to buy a box of cyan only ink. So yesterday I was running errands in town, and went into Staples. I was quite annoyed to find that Staples no longer sells the individual boxes of the colors of ink – they only sell it in a multi-pack of all of the three colors. I had a choice of the regular or extra long (as in how many copies you can make.) I was shocked at the price at the time, since the printer I bought was purchased because the ink was supposed to be very cheap! And I am always interested in stretching my money as far as I can stretch it!
Well, I knew that no place else in town sold that ink anymore, so there was no point in holding out for the lowest price somewhere else in town. I went ahead and purchased the multi-pack for over $80! When I got home, before I opened the box to install the cartridge, I decided to do a little bit of comparison shopping online. I was quite annoyed to discover that I could purchase the exact same thing for less than $50 on Amazon! That included the shipping! So I went ahead and ordered the ink online, and today I returned the printer ink to Staples for a refund. Note to self: stop buying my ink at Staples, remember to buy a spare cartridge and keep it at hand, and always, always, shop around!
My family is one of those families that likes to use coupons to save money. When we go out to eat, if a restaurant has some kind of loyal customer rewards program, we sign up and get our rewards! We use credit cards that have rewards programs, and we clip coupons from the Sunday paper. We scour the paper and the Internet for bargains when we need to buy something.
I like to shop online, using online coupons, discounts and promotions whenever possible. When I was growing up, my parents instilled in me a large amount of frugality. We are always looking for bargains everywhere we go. That is why I really like using different couponing websites – they are always offering great discounts, promotions and discounts with their participating merchants.
I am all for saving money every single possible way. With the price of gas skyrocketing, almost everything else seems to be following suit. I know it is because the cost of transporting the goods from the producer to the consumer has increased dramatically. Things are getting so expensive that people are going to end up cutting out all of their non-essential purchases and “make do” much longer than they want to. The old adage “”use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without” that our grandparents used to say (because of their experiences during the Great Depression) is becoming the motto of today.
That’s why I’m so very pleased to have found a website dedicated to help the consumers save money! It is chock full of discounts and coupons on just about everything you can think of, from books, clothes, tools, jewelry, computers and cell phones. I found a lot of great AT&T promotional codes on cell phones there. They show offers of new phones and calling plans, refurbished phones, and a lot of different packages. I’m in the market for a new cell phone plan, so I will be checking out these offers for sure!
I found a website where I can get online coupon code discounts on Brother, Dell, HP, Lexmark, Canon and Epson supplies. I was really glad to find the website because I’m always on the lookout on ways to save money. In this struggling economy, every penny we can save helps a lot! I couldn’t believe my eyes a few months ago when I was walking down a department store aisle and I saw a teenaged girl kick a quarter that was on the floor and the quarter went careening off far away. If I had reached the quarter first, I would have picked it up and put it in my pocket! I asked her “why didn’t you pick up that quarter?” and she replied “it wasn’t worth bending over to pick up!” That girl gets too much allowance!
But I digress….. I was saying how happy I was to find this website because it has a lot of online discount codes and coupons for a variety of printers. It also has some informative articles about ink, such as “Seven tips for saving ink” and an educational article about generic and remanufactured cartridges.
One of their pages is dedicated solely to directing you to merchants that sell printer ink at good prices. The page tells you about their coupons and discounts and provides links to the different merchants listed.
